The School Council was established in 2009 and now has elected pupils from all year groups from P6 to year 12. Beechlawn School Council highlights the Thinking Skills and Personal Capabilities and Personal Development and Mutual Understanding elements of the Northern Ireland Curriculum.
Elections are held annually and offer pupils the opportunity to develop their literacy, social and communication skills and help empower pupils to create a positive school environment. To date the council have been involved in new school uniform and logo design, Cash for Clobber fundraising and gathering news for Beechlawn News.
In Beechlawn we feel it is important that all pupils' ideas and concerns are shared and used to improve the quality educational provision for all pupils at our School. Schools work better when pupils and teachers are working together and listening to each other.
