The pupils are introduced to a wide and varied range of sporting activities at Beechlawn. We have a first class sports hall and changing facilities, fitness suite, grass football pitch and an all-weather pitch. As well as our own facilities we make full use of the Lisburn Leisureplex's swimming pools and sports hall. We have junior and senior football, badminton, athletics, swimming and cross-country running teams that compete against other schools.
All pupils are encouaged to participate in outdoor pursuits and in Year 10 the pupils visit the Killyleagh Outdoor Education centre. Senior pupils are also introduced to golf and a local golf professional provides tuition on a weekly basis at Laganview Golf Centre.
The school has close links with the IFA. IFA coaches attend the school to provide coaching courses and our pupils have represented the Northern Ireland MLD under19 international football team. |
