Beat the bully

In November Hannah Corry and the rest of the pupils in Reading Unit entered a competition called 'Stamp Out Bullying'. The competition was organised by the 'Belfast Bus Company'. The overall winner would get their name on the side of a new bus. Very exciting! They would also win some bus vouchers for their school and some 'High Street' vouchers to spend on themselves.

Hannah Corry in R.U.1 won second prize. She has won £100 bus vouchers for the school and some 'High Street' vouchers for herself and she will get her photograph taken by the Belfast Telegraph. Well done Hannah!!  Read her story here.

This story happened last year in Maghaberry School. There were two bullies called Jack and Bob and me, I am called Hannah. They were my friends, but they started bullying me because I was going to Beechlawn. Every day they were calling me names. I asked them to stop being horrible to me and they got very cross with me. They kept calling me names.  They lived in Maghaberry too.

I went to school one day and they started to call me names and doing bad things to me. "I hate you!" said Jack. "You are so fat!" said Bob. I answered them back I said, "I don't care what you say to me". They thought I was stupid too because I was going to Beechlawn. Then they went away. I was happy for a while, but then they started bullying me again. So I said "I will gave you a test, I will see you in an hour". An hour later I saw them coming down the road. I gave them a book with two pages full of sums. I finished them quickly and they were finished them too. I asked my mum to check the answers and their sheet was all wrong and my sheet had only five sums wrong. I showed the sheets to them. They said "you are not stupid, we're sorry!" and they never bullied me again. I was very happy again.
